Welcome! Please report all bugs here or on Discord!
Discord Server Link.
Download Corrupt?
Use this Torrent:
231 Full installer Torrent on Discord.
Torrent Clients I recommend using:
--Deluge: https://deluge-torrent.org/
-- Or, Qubit Torrent: https://www.qbittorrent.org/
There are other torrent clients but these are ad free and spyware free, unlike others like BitTorrent or uTorrent which have become compromised with malware. Make sure the torrent reaches 100% , else it will be corrupt.
About installation:
JUST EXTRACT THE 7Zip and RUN THE EXE!
DO NOT TRY TO INSTALL FNC WITH A MOD MANAGER! USE THE EXE!
220's exe will 4GB Patch New Vegas for you! (And automatically skips this if it's installed.)
220 Installs the mod to the directory with FalloutNV.exe. Just point it wherever you want it.
You need 8GB of RAM or More to Run FNC, and Texture Quality set to High or Ultra.
Mod Organizer 2 Special Install Instructions at this link.
Remember that your easy mode MO2 install goes like this: Run the EXE from your download folder wherever that is, change the ini setting found below, and that's it. If you want it to be complicated, these instructions are manually unpacking the EXE and doing all that stuff, but it's unnecessary. FNC works just like the DLCs. If it's enabled, cool. If not? It won't hurt anything. So no special hoops are necessary. But that's up to you. I can't tell you how to live your life. You do you.
And that's it. You're ready! We have OPTIONAL Recommended Mods. Very few Incompatible Mods.
Use Mod Manager of Your Choice!
If you are running FNC totally vanilla (no other mods), you don't even need a mod manager.
Just run using FalloutNVLauncher.exe and under DATA make sure all your boxes are checked.
I can't seem to get New California to start. Help?
A -- I installed everything correctly and New Vegas crashes on startup!
You sure? Check your load order.
Run like this:
FalloutNV.esm ✓
NewCalifornia.esm ✓
See if it runs now.
If not, you may have something else wrong with your installation of New Vegas. Check our discord Help channel.
WE RECOMMEND YOU INSTALL NEW VEGAS CLEAN! NO MODS.
THEN, RUN NEW VEGAS VANILLA TO MAKE SURE IT WORKS!
THEN, INSTALL NEW CALIFORNIA.exe, AND MAKE SURE IT WORKS!
THEN, Install your favourite mods on top of it.
Remember, New California is HUGE! It's basically a new game!
Re-install New Vegas, or install a new copy somewhere, or make an MO2 profile. Then , experiment with mods.
B -- I installed everything correctly and clicked New Game and nothing happens!
Did you install New Vegas clean, no mod, and run the exe as administrator?
Are you sure it installed to the right folder?
Are you sure it installed to the right MO2 mod profile? (See the MO2 instructions above. All you need to do is run the EXE -- that's it. And make sure the below text matches.)
Go to "C:\Users\"YourUserNameHere"\Documents\My Games\FalloutNV"
Search for Fallout.ini and Fallout_Custom.ini
If it says "SCharGenQuest=00102037" replace it with this:
SCharGenQuest=00AD31FF
;SCharGenQuest=00102037 \\this ; is just a "comment" and it is there when you want to uninstall FNC later.
If you use MO2:
Do the same in your ini configurations.
Our EXE attempts to do this, but validating install in steam, TTW, and other mods may prevent it, including some antivirus programmes.
C -- I installed everything correctly and clicked New Game, saw the video, Tackle or Dodge, and Crashed entering the Atrium! (or Black Screen)
Texture Quality
Did you set your
to High or Ultra ? We haven't found a way to convince New Vegas to use Medium or Low yet. This causes a crash.
D -- Texture Size is set to High and I just reinstalled everything, and it still won't start!
If you don't have more than 8GB of RAM in your system, you need a PC with more memory.
Sorry, there's no way around that. Some systems work better than others.
We find that installing New Vegas on a Solid State Hard Drives does wonders for performance.
So does disabling background applications like Browsers and other heavy processes.
E -- It still won't run!
Make sure that if you don't have the DLC, you aren't using the DLC Control Plugins. If you are it will cause a crash.
F -- I just can't install it! I get an error!
People getting the missing msvcr100.dll and/or NSIS Bin Error are all missing the Microsoft C++ Visual Runtime Library:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wyDozY5wSd4
Fix is in the video. It's a common Windows issue.

This mod has tons of scripted and triggered events, so The console commands MoveToQT, coc, cow, setstage, unlock, resurrect, and placeatme will probably break your quest or game!
If you used any of these console commands, please reload a save from before you used any of them and continue from there, before reporting a bug.
If you do have a bug, please describe it and upload your save here at our Discord server https://discord.gg/Cr39CP8 in the
public-bug-reports channel. (just drag the file into the chat window).
If you are having issues with the game itself, be sure to check out this stability guide:
Fallout New Vegas | FPS & Stability (definitive guide)
Using the Installer with MO2
These stability changes seem to work for most people:
Install NVSE and NVAC: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/53635
Make these changes to your fallout.ini in Documents, My Games, FalloutNV and then set it to read-only.

I'm continually getting CTD's around Union City and I-15 where you help the desert ranger. Tried disabling my other mods and even turned my ENB off yet Im still getting crashes mere minutes after getting in the game even if I'm inside the headquarters.

You're getting a crash at I-15 or elsewhere reading:
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime LibraryRuntime Error!R6025-pure vitual function call
Try turning
offbInlineVanillaFunctions in the AIstewie tweaks.
Or, if you have The Frontier installed, just remove the FrontierTweaks.ini from your NVSE folder.

For starters, thank you VERY much for this mod, it is awesome. One of the best quest mods I ever played in many ways, regardless of its limitations and the issues you have encountered. Still an incredible achievement and a lot of fun to experience. This, by the way, is a re-post of a post I made back in January. I'm replaying Fallout New Vegas again, which had me revisit the Nexus, and this page in particular. As I did not receive a response the first time, I am trying anew. Here goes:
For possible future reference - and in case that darned bug plagues me again in a future playthrough - I'll leave a summary of my problem here, in case someone feels like answering it.
Basically, played through the entire mod in the NCR route. Used all the recommended mods, didn't use any of the incompatible ones, my computer's more than strong enough to handle everything, played on ultra quality no problem, had no trouble for the entirety of the mod, but when I made it to the last mission/final quest 'Destroy Fort Daggerpoint' (at least I think it was the last one? The mission where you attack Fort Daggerpoint with NCR forces, vertibirds, with tons of super mutants everywhere), every single last time I clicked on the door to get inside the fort, the game froze, or crashed. Again, I had no problem at any point in the entire mod. Only there.
So I was wondering if anyone had a solution, or knew the worldspace IDs to get inside the fort without using the door, or a similar console command which might have fixed it, or allowed to get around it, or something. Because there was no way in hell nor heaven that I was ever going to get through that door for some reason.
And that's it. Whatever the case, aside from that unfortunate conclusion, I absolutely and thoroughly enjoyed the mod. It was awesome in general, a lot of fun in my opinion, I very much enjoyed the environment, the atmosphere, the fairly impactful and consequential decisions one can make, the different factions, the interesting characters. Loved the designs, the more 'group combat'-oriented experience, and so on and so forth. I'd 100% recommend it for anyone to try it at least once in their lives, and I'd keep it as part of my main modlist if I could find a surefire way to get around the accursed door of Fort Daggerpoint.

Without more information about that glitch, there isn't much I can do to help.
Obviously, thousands of other players don't have that issue, so my guess it that it's something in your mod list. What, I don't know.

I see. And thanks for the response.
What of the Worldspace ID inside of the Fort for that mission, could that work?

You still need to hit the quest trigger at the door.
A crash log or literally any information about the nature of the crash would help.

Wish I could provide either of those, but that was literally over 9 months ago. That game is loooooong gone, including its crash reports and the modlist I used back then along with it.
It's okay. I guess I can always restart it sometime and hope it won't do the same thing again. The issue has to be specific if nobody else ever had it before.
Thanks nonetheless. Love the mod and the entire experience in general.

Yeah, glad you had fun otherwise! Probably won't happen again round 2. Just remember not to use that FNC Overhaul, it causes a lot of breakages like that.

Got'cha. I don't, so I should be good on that side. I just refreshed my modlist and re-installed FNC, so I'm going to try my luck again using the same route. And dammit, if it did happen again for whatever reason, I'll restart it with a different route. I'll have to check the other routes to see what other paths can be taken, I don't remember the others aside from the NCR and the Enclave, and I don't really wanna join the Enclave due to what they did at the beginning, heh. XD

the obvious politics to real life ruins the prologue which is the best part but man this mod felt like an entire game, i've seen people criticize post-prologue but it holds up pretty solid, the game had to turn into fallout eventually so i dunno what people really expect there. crashing in union city all the time didn't really feel like it was my fault, my game doesn't act like that in the overworld and it seemed to reduce in frequency when i lowered the texture res. the battles were pretty amazing and felt like it maximized the capabilities of the engine in a good way. guns felt balanced, the skill checks were pretty well placed and diverse. an endurance skill check? kinda amazing. arguably better placed than vanilla situations
the voice acting was just fine, (spoiler)'s daughter bothered me but i'm supposing that was intentional and it worked, during the trade i threw four incendiary grenades at them both and thereafter had a nice day
due to the unfinished state of new vegas itself, i don't feel too cheaty about my character's status in the overworld (lvl 12) and the item displacement is such a good way to solve that issue too. it really feels like it kinda completes new vegas. i'm sure enough people have already commented on the seamless transition which is just amazing. doc's comment when you walk up to the machine is funny. i think most of all i really enjoyed that japanese shi clan. it makes me want to replay it on another playthrough to make sure i get all the content. i think i can't really rate this, it would not really represent what i feel accurately. what i can do though is rest with the illusion that this can fit in as part of the base game and i recommend it as a required new vegas experience
just don't touch my spears

Nah, he's too self-projecting about that issue. Note his comment about "unfinished state of NV"? This is more than a decade after FNV out, it's no longer correct to make that kind of statement. it make people wonder if the guy ever play the game at all within the last few years.
Video games always contain a strong politic aspect in their design from day one. If people dont like it, say you dont like it and be done about it. Self-projecting people like that are always too sensitive to such issue that it simply not worth to resolve their grievance.
When he said about real life politic in prologue, I think he refer to Coach Bragg's pep talk to the football team. From where I stand, while that smell a little, it is not actually overdone~ If you design the thing that contain a football team, a pep talk seem just what the chef need. And a coach who is Enclave? Yeah, such pep talk is not beyond expectation, considering Eden's radio talks back in the F3 days.
But a "Football team pep talk" that contain "strong chauvinism language"? Yeah, two dose for the price of one. That certainly can rile somebody up.

I don't think the harsh reaction is necessary.
A lot of people assume Bragg wearing a red hat and saying Bring America Back to Glory (BABG?) is a reference to 2016-2020. But this mod was originally written in 2010-2012, released in 2013.
So either that was prophecy or a coincidence.
Fallout 2, however, never pulled any punches. So it wouldn't be out of character for FNC to do it too.

wow, if that's true i'm actually pretty impressed and rescind the politics comment, but you truly could understand why i would get confused. it really is on the nose, the election subject from the guard after they (spoiler) really is what "confirmed" it for me. excellent mod btw, there's nothing finer of this scale on the website and to my knowledge beyond.
i'm actually still trying to get over how you're a wizard about that intro
@laclongquan fallout new vegas was literally unfinished, whether it was bethesda having obsidian pulling the plug or whatever (i forgot the details on the circumstances, shot in the dark at most) it has a lot of content they planned on putting in the game
Locked
Sticky
And like I said, that kind of comment (even your latest) is literally one decade out of date~ The kind of content they restored, the list of bugs they fixed, the amount of content/mechanism they add etc... all that make sure FNV vanilla content is as fixed as they can possibly be fixed, as completed as it can be, and much more.
When you make that kind of comment, we can question that whether you do play the game at all in the last few years. With good reasons, really. Take it from me, you dont want to utter it, unless you like getting strange and wondering looks.
Kinda like a guy just only played Fallout 2 two decades ago, not touched it since, and now come out to criticize its buglist... Wow, you must have lived under a rock all these years!~
(side note: if a guy really want to play 100% bugfree vanilla FNV, then yes, he can, with all the bugfix mods. But FNV charisma being what it was, nobody can resist playing fnv with more contents, more changes, thus more newer bugs)

I mean, it's not political at all, but it was definitely prophecy. :p
It was very clear to me in 2008 and the Palin-McCain campaign that the American Right had begun some very weird wrapped in a flag carrying a cross kinds of "lets go back to the 1950s Family Values, but lets Make It Methamphetamine Conspiracy Theory Crazy."
At the time I was still slightly to the right of center myself. It's just how I grew up.
2011 I got to see the worst of the worst, after a mass shooting here in Tucson brought the crazies from internet joke to my everyday personal life. I was harassed and stalked by Alex Jones types for over a year, saying I faked the mass shooting at a Safeway, because I knew the shooter (true, he actually raped my ex-girlfriend) and that I was a wealthy member of a secret society with global power (not true, I am broke as all f***, then and now.)
They lost interest after Sandy Hook and began going after those people in 2012, but to me, the damage was done. I'd been fired from jobs, friends on the more right side of the spectrum disowned me thinking I really did actually fake news for the Illuminati, and I'd held almost 10 people on my porch at gunpoint. It was a pretty f***ed up time, and I had A LOT of exposure to that side of American thought. The Zeitgeist did not ask my permission to barge into my life. It came to my yard and set up camp, and had to be escorted off my property by the sheriff.
A lot of Bragg's speech and his Patriot Program was inspired by the authoritarian bent that the conspiracy theorists I interacted with were saying. Talking about overthrowing free elections if they lose, arming themselves, vaguely or overtly championing race supremacy, traditional values, family, self reliance -- it was all very much right there.
So I poured that into Bragg.
You can imagine, in 2016, Project Brazil stopped being a warning about the future. By 2020 it was topical.
The red hat was just a coincidence. But man... wow.

The NCR in 2260 in the Pass is forcing everyone to use NCR Dollars instead of caps. So you trade NCR Dollars like you would any other items to pay for things. Or, barter.

Yeah, it'll always say 0. You have to trade for equal value.
It's a terrible system with ridiculous engine limits. I had to go make a whole new game with a new IP to deal with currencies in a better way.

Pros: The mod looks great, it's very tense, and looks well-made.
Cons:
End the Prologue, dropping into a massive fight, enemies everywhere.
Survive that, get outside, try to make it to Union City...stopped at the I-15, meet Vargas...and massive fight, enemies everywhere!
Survive that, retreat to Union City, talk to one of the NCR leaders...and MASSIVE FIGHT, ENEMIES EVERYWHERE!!
Can someone tell me if it gets better from there? Because I'll go back to playing regular F:NV if all I'm doing is jumping from one mass battle to another...it's mentally exhausting, and making me regret installing this mod...

War Never Changes.
Ironically, the Raider quest has fewer large battles.
FNC never had the resources to keep making side quests unfortunately. After the battle of Union City the mod opens up and lets you free ram without any major conflicts. But FNC is very much only interested in getting to the end through
bigdecisions. It was resource starved the entire time, and had to make do with just the two of us for 90% of development. So big branches in the story are where ll efforts were focused.
If you leave UC after that second main quest, there are side quests at Odyssey, Angel Breakers, and the Sand Crawler.

When Earnest Schwartz died I picked up his Pulse Pistol and noticed it was very good, with a DPS of 124. But since my character has focused on Guns instead of Energy Weapons I decided to give it to one of my companions instead of using it myself. But then I noticed some strange things:
1: All companions literally refuse to use it. They always chose another weapon.
2: If I remove all other weapons from their inventory (including their default weapons which I have made playable/removeable) except the Pulse Pistol, they will still not use it. Instead they will pick up another weapon from the ground or from a container and use that weapon instead.
3: Only if I clear the entire area from all other weapons, they will use the Pulse Pistol. But when they do, they will only shoot one shot every 5 seconds or so, instead of spamming shots, which of course give them a very bad DPS with the weapon. (even Earnest Schwartz himself only shoots 1 shot every 5 seconds when he uses it).
When I use the weapon, on the other hand, I can spam shots very quickly and destroy a bunch of NPCs in seconds.
My questions are: Does anyone know how to fix the above issues? Why do companions refuse to use this particular weapon? There is no script attached to the weapon so what can it be that causes this? Is the weapon bugged?
Locked
Sticky
I dont remember FNC's Pulse Pistol vanilla stat. So I wont comment specifically on this weapon.
However, companions use weapon based on DPS. If they has the worst weapon, they will hesitate between whether to use that one, or change to unarmed (with better DPS)
I dont know if your PP follow usual Pulse format, which add a EMP effect and add most damage to this type of effect. But if that is the case, usual normal damage/DPS of PP wont be very good compared to other weapons, even their unarmed fists. Thus their hesitation.
That is a base engine issue. NO way to fix it, because it lie in the way EMP effect is designed and how companions treat weapons.
You might TRY to fix it by providing them ONLY maximized ammo and not any normal/bulk/ overcharged/ optimized types. See if that one push the estimable damage/DPS up to their favoured range.
Locked
Sticky
It doesn't add an EMP effect or anything else. And its DPS of 124 is very high so companions should use it. Seems to me like the weapon is bugged. I made an ESP which gives Earnest Schwartz a Plasma Pistol instead and it was nice to see that he actually uses his weapon now without taking long pauses between every shot.

I can say right away that FNC Overhaul v1.1 and FNC vanilla doesnt have any bug in that cell.
And the most usual source of complaint come from FNC Overhaul v1.2 and 1.3 so do you install that version? 1.1 is quite stable. Buggy but quite stable. But 1.2 and 1.3 cause more CTD than anything else you can think of.
Other than that, do you install any mods that affect that area in general and that building in particular?
Thaiauxn

If only FNC Overhaul hadn't come from the specific Frontier discord mod behind the Fuckable Deathclaw & Sex Lizards, a guy who couldn't understand unreliable narrator and continually harassed our volunteers about it, and someone who immediately came to our server and called everyone there trying to help an idiot.
The author lies on the front page about what it contains and does for performance, and breaks things all over FNC. Deletes a Faction the Frontier Devs didn't like but weren't real enough to just ask about. Deletes or edits notes they didn't like, etc. Deletes trigger volumes which break quests...
It could have been very cool. But considering the source and what it actually does, we can't recommend using it in any version. Super bummer. We need people helping out with stuff exactly like that. Anyone coming from the Frontier server with no intent to actually help out, but instead try to edit FNC as a f*** you to push Phobos's wretched attitude, or Sole Survivor's ridiculous misunderstandings, accusations & threats, that's not cool. Nobody needs that.
